Spring Maintenance

It really does look as though winter is finally coming to an end. Of course, it’s not over yet and there’ll likely be cool temps for quite some time but the prospect of turning the heat off at last doesn’t seem quite so fanciful as it did, even a week ago.

But how has your system performed this winter? Is there anything that needs repairing?

When spring and, dare I say it, summer do arrive the temptation is to flick the switch to “off” and forget all about the heat until next fall. But now really is the perfect time to get work done: when you don’t need the system AND you have the luxury of time.

Since we partnered up with Lamprey Energy, you now have access to some of the most skilled heating technicians in our area. Hopefully, your system is in great condition, but you want to keep it that way. So do your heating equipment and yourself a favor: schedule a preventive maintenance for some time in the spring. Once the system is turned off, the sooner you get it all cleaned out the better – wait too long and the winter’s soot residues will start to harden making it tougher to remove and reducing the life expectancy of your system. One of the benefits of our relationship with Lamprey is that you can now book a one-off preventive maintenance or sign up for a regular annual Preventive Maintenance – they’ll remind you when your service is due!

But what if your system is on its last legs and one more round of repairs really don’t make sense? Right now there are all kinds of deals and rebates on newer-technology heating systems, and as we all know, installing a newer, more energy-efficient system will save you money in the long run.

Don’t know what’s available? At Lamprey they have all kinds of knowledge and expertise. Call Mike Meserve, 603.964.6703, have a chat, and have him come out and take a look at what you have now and what you could have going forward – he’ll give you solid, reliable advice and no-strings estimates.

The warmer weather is getting here, but we all know that winter will be back and when it arrives, you’ll want to know that your heating system is the best, most efficient, fully functioning system possible.
